Brian Surerus – President

Brian has been involved in the construction of pipelines since 1971, and has overseen the growth of Surerus Pipeline Inc. into a significant player in the pipeline industry. Experience as an operator, foreman, superintendent and owner has greatly contributed to the successful installation of over 6,000 kilometres of pipe throughout British Columbia and Alberta. Brian has successfully managed the installation of more than 12 NEB pipelines and has made positive relationships with the communities that he has worked with.

Sean SurerusProject Analyst

Involved with Surerus Pipeline Inc. since 1994, Sean has worked as a field office manager and project analyst. With degrees in Business Administration and Economics Sean has implemented formalized project management structures that incorporate scheduling and costing principles to the field.

Sherrill Anderson - Controller

A finance professional since 1982, Sherrill handles the accounting and management requirements of the Surerus group of companies. Sherrill has managed the successful implementation of field accounting systems and progressive management analysis software.

Steve Thorlakson – General Manager

Steve joined Surerus in June 2006 following 35 years in finance, banking, insurance and investments. Most recently, Steve served Fort St. John as our Mayor for 15 years. As General Manager, he is responsible for primary support of the President, management team and office staff; strategic planning; policy development and research. Steve was one of the first in Canada to earn the Chartered Financial Planner designation.

John Steward - HSE Manager

John is a Health, Safety and Environment coordinator with experience in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries since 1988. As a safety professional, he works in the field overseeing the safe work guidelines that have been established, and in the office creating safety policies, programs and instructing safety related courses. He is a PITS certified safety auditor and has been a Canadian Registered Safety Professional since 2002.
